How the conversion is calculated
Rates are quoted against the US Dollar, so any two currencies are converted via a cross-rate:
Example: ₹1,000 → EUR, when 1 USD = 94.89 INR and 1 USD = 0.8633 EUR. So 1,000 × 0.8633 ÷ 94.89 ≈ €9.10.

Which exchange rate is used?
The mid-market rate — the midpoint between what global buyers and sellers pay — from open.er-api.com, updated once daily. It is the "fair" reference rate, not a quote anyone will actually give you.
Will my bank give me this exact rate?
No. Banks, forex cards and remittance services typically add a 1–3% margin plus fees on top of the mid-market rate. Use this as a fair benchmark — if a service is quoting you far below it, you're overpaying.
How fresh are the rates?
The source updates once per day. Your browser caches the rates locally for 12 hours so the page loads instantly and saves data; a fresh copy is fetched after that.
Do you store my searches or data?
No. Every conversion happens in your browser. Only the rate table itself is cached locally on your device — nothing is ever uploaded to us.
