Systematic Withdrawal Plan โ€” mutual fund corpus se har mahine fixed amount nikaalte hue, kitne saal chalega aur 10 saal baad kitna bachega?

Hybrid/balanced funds: 7โ€“9% is a conservative estimate. Equity: higher long-term but with ups and downs.

How SWP is calculated

Every month, your balance first grows by the monthly return, then the withdrawal is deducted:

B(n) = P ร— (1 + r)n โˆ’ W ร— [((1 + r)n โˆ’ 1) / r]

where P is the corpus, W the monthly withdrawal and r the monthly rate (annual rate รท 12). The calculator simulates this month by month.

Worked example: โ‚น25,00,000 corpus, โ‚น15,000/month withdrawal at 8% p.a. โ€” first-month interest is โ‚น16,667, more than the withdrawal, so the balance grows: roughly โ‚น25.2 lakh after 1 year and โ‚น28.1 lakh after 10 years. But withdraw โ‚น20,000/month instead and the corpus runs out in about 22.5 years (270 months).

FAQ

SWP kya hai โ€” FD se better hai monthly income ke liye?

SWP means withdrawing a fixed amount from a mutual fund every month. Long-term returns are usually higher than FD, and tax can be lower too (only the gains part of each withdrawal is taxed at capital-gains rates, not the full interest at slab rate). The trade-off: returns are not guaranteed โ€” markets can dip, especially early on.

Kitna withdrawal safe maana jaata hai?

A common rule of thumb: keep annual withdrawals around 4โ€“6% of the corpus. If your monthly withdrawal is less than the monthly interest earned (like โ‚น15,000 vs โ‚น16,667 interest on โ‚น25 lakh at 8%), the corpus never depletes. Withdraw more than that and it starts shrinking.

Expected return kitna assume karun?

Be conservative. Hybrid/balanced funds: 7โ€“9%. Equity funds: 10โ€“12% long-term average, but the early years can be volatile โ€” if markets fall right after you start, a heavy withdrawal drains the corpus faster (sequence-of-returns risk). Many people withdraw less in the first few years.

SWP par tax kaise lagta hai?

Each withdrawal has two parts: your own capital (no tax) and gains (taxable). For equity funds: 12.5% LTCG on gains above โ‚น1.25 lakh/year if held over 12 months, 20% STCG otherwise. Debt funds are taxed at your slab rate. This calculator shows pre-tax numbers โ€” actual in-hand amount will differ.
